Large pistons and a high oil volume are critical for performance – there is no room for compromise. To still achieve a best-in-class weight, both master and caliper are extensively CNC post-machined after forging giving the RACE PRO an even sculptural design appearance.
Our legendary radial master cylinder, actuated towards the handlebar, combined with a sharp mechanical leverage ratio, converts every ounce of finger force into aggressive braking power. In addition, a ball-bearing lever pivot and low-friction piston bore ensure exceptionally smooth actuation.
The result: Full power for late braking points and low hand effort to help combat arm pump.

Despite its low weight, the entire braking system is consistently designed for stiffness and maximum performance. Our unique one-piece forged caliper construction ensures that every bit of braking power is transferred directly to the brake pads. The exceptionally stiff caliper and reduced hydraulic system pressures provide the foundation for maximum power, while delivering 20 % less unwanted flex at the lever compared to the MT7.*
Thanks to a unique constant leverage ratio across the entire lever throw, the RACE PRO remains precise to modulate and is consistently predictable at all times. Say no to binary on/off feelings.
Of course, our flagship also relies on the innovative EASY LINK hose coupling. Simply click the brake hose into the master and disconnect it whenever needed. Now even with a sealed valve at the master.
As with the GUSTAV PRO, a 12 mm master piston and four 19 mm pistons in the caliper provide a lower hydraulic pressure level. This means less pressure is lost due to expansion of the brake hose. The result: a clearly defined bite point combined with excellent modulation and the front and rear brakes maintain a consistent feel, even with long brake hoses.
With the SHIFTMIX interface, you can mount a dropper post remote or shifter directly to the brake. Available in various configurations.

*The claim of “16% more braking power” refers to test-bench results from a braking force test conducted in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 4210 standard. In dry braking conditions, with a hand force of 100 N, the RACE PRO generates approximately 16% more braking force than a GUSTAV PRO with the same brake pads and rotor diameter. It is also significantly stronger at other hand forces.
*The “20% higher system stiffness” figure refers to a calculation of brake lever compliance compared to the MT7. The calculation takes into account both FEM analyses of caliper stiffness and the reduced hydraulic system pressure of the RACE PRO.
Comparison: RACE PRO or GUSTAV PRO? Both brakes deliver powerful, race-ready performance. The main difference lies in their focus: low weight and aggressive response versus maximum reserves under extreme loads. At 501 g per brake set, the RACE PRO combines high braking power and heat resistance with a lightweight setup. Compared to the GUSTAV PRO with 2.5 mm rotors, this saves around 220 g per bike.* The GUSTAV PRO is built for riders who put their brakes under sustained, extreme loads. Its larger pad wear volume and high thermal capacity provide additional reserves for repeated heavy braking – at the cost of additional system weight.
