MAGURA DISC BRAKE PADS

MAGURA brakes stand for power and optimal performance. That’s why all our brake pads are made of an organic pad compound with a metal content of up to 30%. Choosing the optimal brake pad depends on your personal riding behaviour and needs.

Unleash the potential of your brake pad

The two most important things you need to know: The brake pad influences more than 20% of your braking force. So, choosing the right pad is essential for getting the most out of your brake.
MAGURA is convinced that organic pad compounds with a metal content of up to 30% deliver the best braking performance. You can find a comparison with sintered (metallic) brake pads here.

Braking power, durability, quiet brake noise, what’s most important to you?

Comparison chart for brake pads based on four criteria: brakingforce dry, durability, noise reduction, and heat resistance. The bar chart shows the performance of four types of MAGURA brake pads.

The brake pad is more than just a wear part!

Avoid fading with the right brake pad

The highest braking power is of little use on the trail if it decreases during prolonged braking caused by overheating. Choosing the right brake pad will help your brake achieve more heat resistance, making it fit for prolonged descents or high system weights.

Why is it important to run in the brake pads?

When the brakes are being run in, microscopic imperfections are filled in, and the brake pad can emit gas. This way, you’ll unleash the maximum friction force, achieve even wear, and the initial brake squealing will disappear.

Correct running-in of your disc brake.
Here’s how:

Don’t brake too hard. Find a flat, low-traffic route and accelerate to 25-30 km/h. Brake gently but firmly, until you come almost to a standstill. We recommend 30 braking repetitions to achieve the maximum braking torque. To keep your brake in tip-top condition, repeat the running-in process at regular intervals depending on the type of route.

7 or 8? Which MAGURA pad do I need?

When designating MAGURA pads, the number indicates the shape of the pad and the color indicates the compound. Variants with “8” and “9” are compatible with 4-piston calipers (MT5, MT7, LOUISE) and variants with “7” with 2-piston calipers (MT8, MT4). Pads with the “10” are only compatible with the MT A disc brake and “13” with GUSTAV and CLARA.
